| Checklist for moving |

1 month before the move.
- Fix the final date for your move
- Inform any concierge(s) of the moving date
- Arrange for cleaning your former home, possibly using a cleaning contractor!
- Have you planned for any redecoration or repairs of your previous home (for which you are responsible)?
- Heat or hot water costs: sort out the question of your final invoice with your previous landlord
- Remember to pay the rental deposit for your new home in time
- Draw up an inventory of the keys of your former home. Have you got them all, as when you moved in?
- Give notice of your departure/arrival to the:
- Post Office
- Administration of the local authorities of your previous and future place of residence
- Military or civil protection authorities
- Insurances
- Bank
- Schools
- Employer
- Newspaper supplier
- Associations / Clubs
- Fix a meeting with your electricity / gas suppliers to read the meters
- Give some thought to what things you will need during your move, so that they are always immediately available
- Remember to fill in any holes in the walls of your former home
- It’s the right moment to clean/repair the curtains that will be going into your new home
- Take advantage of the move to have your carpets cleaned, and have them delivered to your new address!
- Empty your letter box, remove your name plates.
- Insurance: warn your insurers that you are moving. Is your household and fire insurance policy up to date? Take advantage of the move to adapt them to your current circumstances.
- Give some thought to your writing paper letterhead, your stamp, visiting cards… Have them changed or redone.
